travel-europe.europa.eu/etias

This is the ONLY official ETIAS application portal. It is operated by the European Union. The portal is not yet open for applications — expected Summer 2026.
Quick Facts

The official ETIAS application portal is not yet open. When it launches, it will be available exclusively through the .europa.eu domain.

Official URL .europa.eu
Status Not yet open
Launch Q4 2026
Cost €20

Why This Matters

Frontex (the EU Border Agency) has identified over 100 unofficial websites claiming to process ETIAS applications. These sites charge inflated fees (€50-100+), may steal personal information, and cannot actually issue valid travel authorizations.

Only the official EU portal can issue legitimate ETIAS authorizations. There is no "premium processing" or authorized third-party service.

Official Site Facts

How to Identify the Official Site

  • URL ends in .europa.eu — The only legitimate domain for EU services
  • Fee is €20 — No processing fees, service charges, or premiums
  • No urgency tactics — The official site won't pressure you to apply immediately
  • Clear EU branding — European Commission and eu-LISA logos

Red Flags for Scam Sites

  • Different domain — URLs like etias.com, etias-visa.org, etc.
  • Higher fees — Charging more than €20 (or any "service fee")
  • Accepting applications now — The official system hasn't launched yet
  • Premium/express processing — No such service exists
  • Urgency or countdown timers — Pressure tactics to rush you

Official ETIAS Warning

The only official ETIAS website ends in .europa.eu. Any site charging more than €20 or claiming to accept applications before Q4 2026 is a scam. The official portal is travel-europe.europa.eu/etias.

What Authorities Say

Frontex has issued multiple warnings about fake ETIAS websites, noting that scammers are actively targeting travelers before the system even launches.

ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) advises travelers to only use official government websites for travel authorizations.

IATA (International Air Transport Association) reminds airlines and travelers that only .europa.eu sites are official EU portals.
