Understanding the Map
When looking at the Schengen map, keep these distinctions in mind:
- Full Schengen members (dark blue): 27 countries with complete border-free travel
- Partial members (light blue): Bulgaria and Romania — Schengen for air/sea, but land borders still have checks
- Not in Schengen (gray): UK, Ireland, and most of Eastern Europe/Balkans
